Patches and Pieces Quilt Show at Wickland
Please do touch is the message of the museum-quality Patches and Pieces Quilt Show that will be on display at the historic Wickland Home of Three Governors Estate 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Two floors of this large mansion will showcase vintage and modern quilts. Antique beds will be covered with quilts similar to their age. The show will include educational displays about dating fabrics and dating quilts that will help quilt owners date their own treasures. Advice on cleaning and repairing quilts will also be available. At 11 a.m., a program of quilt designs and family research will be presented and will repeat again at 2:30 p.m. $15 exhibit ticket allows all-day entry. DECEMBER 8 & 9 Mrs. Julia Beckham's Christmas Teas Julia Wickliffe Beckham, the only woman in the world to be the mother, sister, and daughter of a governor, hosts a Victorian Tea, and shares memories of her life at Wickland at the turn of the century.
